A working definition
-
Abbreviation
RRETS stands for Rapid Renewable Energy Transition Schema, naming a fast, coordinated transition in energy systems aimed at reducing emissions at the pace the climate problem demands rather than the pace institutions usually tolerate.
-
Functionality
The term describes a practical framework that uses two tarrif system for paying for the electricity so that money is front loaded for the rapid reinvestment and scaling of clean energy infrastructure. The goal is to create a self-reinforcing cycle of investment and deployment that can achieve a complete transition in very short timeframes, rather than the several decades that are more commonly projected. Goal of the schema is to provide benefit for everyone in the chain, goverment, investors and the consumers, so that the transition can be driven by naturall capitalistic demand. By rapidly steering toward abundant clean energy societies can stabilize their foundations and free capacity for larger human goals.

What it is and what it does
From emergency response to a wider human horizon
RRETS begins with a simple claim: if civilisation can move through a very rapid energy transition, climate change stops being an ever-growing drain on attention, wealth, and security. Clean, abundant power would not solve every problem on its own, but it would remove one of the largest structural barriers preventing societies from planning beyond crisis management.
The larger ambition is not only to avert damage. It is to create the conditions for a more mature civilisation, one able to protect itself from planetary and outer-space threats, explore deeper into the universe, cure disease more aggressively, extend healthy life, and reduce avoidable suffering at scale. In that sense, RRETS is both an energy proposal and a statement about what humanity could do with its time once it stops spending so much of it defending a broken foundation.

Paper
RRETS Paper
Published on Zenodo on 8 October 2025, after more than six months of work by author , this preprint, titled Rapid Energy Transition by Paying Renewable Energy Up Front, presents the core framework in approximately 14,000 words. It argues that it may be possible to meet the planet's full energy needs with clean energy within 5 to 10 years, without damaging the economy, while creating economic benefits for the parties involved and giving humanity a fighting chance against climate change.

RRETS Book
Published as a book-length work under the title The Rapid Energy Transition Schema: Switch. Profit. Fix Climate Change. Before It’s Too Late., this volume offers a broader and more detailed presentation of the framework across approximately 50,000 words. Expanding on the preprint, it explains the underlying argument more fully, examines its economic and practical implications in greater depth, and places the proposed approach within a wider political and civilisational context.
